Did you ever attend summer camp as a kid? If so, you’ll never forget those fond summer memories that helped shape you into the person you are today. The Gardner School offers a a fun filled summer program that starts your little ones off to a great camp experience! Here are a few reasons why camp is great for children.
1. Discover New Things
Camp allows kids to uncover new activities that may be a little out of the ordinary during a regular school season. Throughout the school year, our infants, toddlers, and preschoolers are exposed to an academically-focused curriculum that allows them to learn through experiential play. During the summers, we take that to the next level and focus on discovering new things a little outside the box. New areas of interest are explored which allows your camper to develop different skills!
2. Improve Social Skills & Confidence
It’s crucial to encourage your child to make friends at an early age. Participating in various activities with others will help them continue making new friends, which helps them gain positive self-esteem! Establishing positive relationships will even boost their own confidence and independence. Our camp teachers will also guide these relationships in a positive manner and will always be there to encourage each child on a different activity or to befriend another camper.
3. Continue Physical Activity
Every day, our infants, toddlers, and preschoolers will enjoy time outside with others. Energy that’s been built up all winter long is finally let loose! Some children lack daily exercise, which effects their sleep! Studies show that your child will sleep better and longer with enough physical activity throughout their day.
Summer camp isn’t just for the big kids anymore! Let your child have the experience of summer camp, without going to a sleep-away camp. This summer, our camp theme is Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead, which focuses on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. Our main goal for our day camp at The Gardner School is to foster your child’s curiosity in these fields and make sure our campers have the time of their lives while learning this summer!
