Weymouth, MA Campus Leadership

Chelsea Fisher

School Director

How long have you been with TGS?
I began working at the Gardner School in August 2024.

Roles served with TGS:
I am currently the Executive Director of our newly built school in Weymouth, Massachusetts, which has an anticipated opening date in 2025.

What is your educational background?
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish literature and a minor in business from the University of New Hampshire. I then continued my education and received my master’s degree in early education from Lesley University.

What made you decide to have a career in education?
When babysitting at a young age, I always enjoyed being around children. I began my education career working as an elementary assistant teacher in my home country of Bolivia, South America.

What makes you laugh about kids?
I enjoy their innocence and their laughter. I also enjoy the moment when children learn a new trick or a new development they are eager to share with you. The smile on their faces is priceless!

What do you love most about working with infants through the age of 5?
In the first five years of their life, children develop their personalities and learn about the world through exploration and creativity. I enjoy witnessing all the different milestones they achieve as they grow and sharing those milestones with their families and teachers.

What is your favorite part of the day at TGS?
I enjoy greeting the children and families and welcoming them to another great day at TSG. I also do my rounds of the school, greeting my teachers and supporting them with whatever is needed to start the day on a positive note!

What inspires you?
I feel motivated when I establish a goal and collaborate with a group of parents or my group of educators to accomplish a specific outcome.

How important is early childhood education?
I believe that early childhood education can have a positive impact that can last a lifetime. The education we provide for children will support them throughout their entire lives, enhancing their learning, health, and well-being.

What would you tell new parents who are apprehensive about leaving their infant in the care of someone else for the first time?
I will always empathize with their worries, but it’s important to reassure parents that their child is being well cared for. It’s completely normal to feel anxious about leaving a child, and we understand! We have an open-door policy, so they are welcome to visit whenever they need to.  We also encourage open communication about any concerns.

Renee Bourne

Assistant Director

What is your educational background, and what inspired you to pursue a career in early childhood education?
I began my early childhood education journey at 17. Growing up in Orlando, Florida, I quickly saw how different teacher-to-child ratios were compared to other states. Caring for 10 toddlers was both challenging and rewarding. I learned the value of hard work, mastered multitasking, and developed deep compassion for children. After working in my family’s business for 13 years, I felt called to return to the field after having my daughter. I went back to college and re-entered early childhood education, serving as a lead teacher for 20 years. Wanting to make a bigger impact, I continued my education, stepped into leadership, and became Director II certified. For the past three years, I’ve proudly served as an Assistant Director, guiding teams, supporting families, and advocating for high-quality care.

How long have you been with TGS, and what excites you most about being part of this school community?
I started at TGS in June 2025. As our school grows, I’m excited to help build a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for our staff, children, and families.

What do you love most about working with children during their early years?
Seeing children grasp new concepts, express themselves, and build connections with peers and teachers.

What is the most rewarding part of your day at TGS?
Living our motto: “Embrace who they are. Imagine who they’ll be.” It’s rewarding to see children thrive and to mentor our amazing team.

Share the name of a teacher who inspired you and how they influenced you.
My professor Sabrina Gray, who taught my Director II course, inspired me greatly. Her open and engaging classes encouraged us to think critically and share ideas. Her support and feedback helped shape the leader I am today.

Why do you believe quality early childhood education is important?
It lays the foundation for future academic, social, and emotional success.

How would you comfort new parents who feel nervous about leaving their child?
I always start by validating their feelings. As a mom of two, I understand how emotional that moment can be — I once felt the same. I reassure families that their child is in a safe, caring, and supportive environment where their well-being is our top priority.

How do you partner with parents to support their child’s growth?
Strong partnerships and open communication between educators and parents are key to meeting each child’s needs and helping them succeed.
