We’re hanging up our cowboy hats and dusting off our cowgirl boots as the sun sets on Camp Gardner 2021: Rodeo Round-Up!, but the memories will live on for years to come! This year, campers headed to the “Wild West” for a galloping good time. Over the course of 10 weeks, they learned new concepts and engaged in hands-on learning activities. We hope you enjoy this fun recap of some of our favorite 2021 Camp Gardner moments.
We Put On Our Best Western Gear
Little ones love to dress up, and this year was no different! We celebrated with special themed dress-up days, and our campers showed off their best outfits every single week. We saw plenty of cowgirls and cowboys, but there were even a few fairies, princesses, puppies, and superheroes in the mix as well. This was no ordinary outpost, and you never knew what characters would ride into the town square.
We Learned S.T.E.A.M Skills
Every cowpoke should know the basics of science, technology, engineering, art, and math, and this summer was no exception. Kids dove into Western-themed learning activities to level up their skills in all these areas. Camp Gardner facilitated themed art projects that looked great over the mantle of any “home on the range.”
We Romped in the Great Outdoors
The weather was right for plenty of outdoor play, and our campers enjoyed hours of outside play with friends new and old. Whether they were herding imaginary cows, riding make-believe horses, or building their own invisible log cabin homes, they enjoyed the fair weather and fresh air that summer brings in spades. When temps were higher, kids enjoyed cooling water play that brought out plenty of squeals and splashes.
