At The Gardner School, a child’s health and safety are foundational priorities. We want our parents to know their child is being cared for in a safe community and secure environment that is intentionally designed to help their preschoolers thrive. One of our main goals is to provide parents with a peace of mind through our learning spaces, our policies, and our highly-qualified teachers and staff.
When you’re choosing and touring a preschool for your child, consider the various ways they work to create a safe and welcoming environment for your little learner. Here are a few specific initiatives we’ve invested in at each of The Gardner School locations:
Staff Safety Training
All TGS staff members are trained in CPR and first aid. We also ensure that our staff members pass state examinations, complete background checks, are screened properly, and receive ongoing training and professional development to maintain a healthy, safe, and secure environment.
A Secure Learning Environment
TGS offers a two-tiered level of security to keep your child safe. Beyond the secured front door, there’s a second door that requires a passcode for classroom access. Our multi-tiered security system also includes live camera feeds of the lobbies, the front doors, and the outside of every school. We’ve found that parents appreciate this extra level of security.
Parents will also find plenty of viewing windows that provide reassurance that their children are thriving within their classrooms. Through these simple yet effective safety mechanisms, our school’s staff and local families are able to rely on an increased measure of security and additional visual accountability.
Spacious Indoor and Outdoor Playscapes
Once inside our classrooms, you’ll notice beautiful play spaces built for children. The size and shape of furniture, soft play areas, bright colors, and big windows encourage children to engage with the space, exploring all aspects of the classroom.
Our outdoor playscapes are also secured, so your child can enjoy making friends, climbing, jumping, and running in a space that was created just for them. As more and more research suggests that outdoor play is essential for children, TGS has designed outdoor play areas and structures to help your child build motor skills in a safe and exciting environment.
An Open-Door Policy for Parents
TGS takes the security of children extremely seriously. We also know how important it is for parents to be able to check in and visit their children. As part of our commitment to cultivating a welcoming atmosphere, we have an open-door policy for parents and caregivers. We encourage parents to drop by any time to say hello, read a story, attend circle time, or join an activity. We also schedule exciting events and special days for parents to come and join their child(ren) to celebrate families and have fun within the TGS community.
