Union Row - Now Enrolling! Campus Leadership

Brittney Evans

School Director

How long have you been with TGS?
Since December 2023!

Roles Served with TGS:
Executive Director

What is your educational background?
I was an infant teacher for 11 years, and I worked for the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) for two years. I also have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and an associate’s degree in early childhood education.

What made you decide to have a career in education?
I love seeing the faces of children as they explore everything around them. The relationships that I create with children, families, and my teachers are so important to me.

What makes you laugh about kids?
The conversations children engage in and the curiosity that they have always makes me laugh!

What do you love most about working with infants through the age of 5?
I love infants and being able to watch them grow over the years. It’s an incredible privilege to be present for a child’s first experiences in a social setting.

What is your favorite part of the day at TGS?
Talking to my teachers to get updates on our students is one of my favorite parts of the day. I also love just sitting down and playing with the children. There is nothing else like it.

What do you love most about TGS?
TGS has a robust community of experienced directors and teachers who are willing to go the extra mile to help our students and our families. We’ve built a strong community of educators here.

What is your fondest memory of TGS thus far?
The winter formal was such a special event! I treasured seeing all the children perform and the looks on the faces of their parents as they watched the performances.

What inspires you?
My son Jaxx is 7 months old, and he is the primary reason I want to improve the field of education. He is my “why” for everything I do!

What is your passion or passions?
My passion is to help every educator I work with to improve their teaching and to use my voice to be an advocate for quality care.

How important is early childhood education?
Early childhood education is important because it creates a foundation for lifelong learning.

What would you tell new parents who are apprehensive about leaving their infant in the care of someone else for the first time?
Being a parent, I understand feeling hesitant to leave your child in someone else’s care for the first time. This is a very normal feeling that all parents experience. However, with live updates and photos during the day, you can see how we make your child’s days memorable. We also have an open-door policy so that you can visit your child any time of day!
