What is your educational background?
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Education minor, and I have worked in the early childhood field since 1996. I was a preschool teacher for 3 years, and then my remaining years of experience has been as a school director.

What made you decide to have a career in education?
I wanted to make a difference in the lives of children and their families. I always wanted to work in education and never gave a second thought to any other career! I also enjoy learning new things, and the education field is always changing and evolving to make things better for children.

What makes you laugh about kids?
Children are always unpredictable! I love the funny stories they tell. They keep me laughing every single day!

What is your favorite part of the day at TGS?
My favorite part of the day at TGS is afternoon pick-up time. I love talking with parents about their children and getting to share stories with them about their child’s day.

What do you love most about TGS?
I love all the wonderful services we provide families to help make their lives easier. Families with young children are busy, and we have many resources available, from the PreciouStatus app to a wide range of enrichment classes, that help put families at ease about their experience with us.

What is your fondest memory of TGS thus far?
My fondest memory has been getting to connect with all the wonderful people who work at TGS. We really put a lot of effort into choosing the right people to work for this company. Everyone here sincerely wants the best for children and families.

What inspires you?
All the sweet faces of the children at TGS inspire me to be better each day. The children are at the heart of what I do!

What is your passion or passions?
My passion is learning. I always want to be learning more, doing better, and growing in every aspect of my life—especially in my career.

What does the term ‘Where Learning Begins’ mean to you?
‘Where Learning Begins’ means that we are providing the foundation for a child’s future learning and growth throughout their life. It's an incredible responsibility we have to provide this experience to young children. We are helping to shape their future!

Assistant Director

What is your educational background?
I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a Pre Primary Specialty from Minnesota State University, Mankato. I have 18 years of experience teaching PreK, Kindergarten, and First Grade.

What made you decide to have a career in education?
I loved to baby sit and nanny for young children, and the early childhood ages have always been my passion. It is amazing to be a part of their growing process!

What makes you laugh about kids?
They say the cutest things and tell the funniest stories. It truly touches my heart every time! It is also fun to share the stories with their parents.

What do you love most about TGS?
I love how we hire highly qualified staff. All lead teachers are required to have a four year degree in elementary/early childhood education or a closely related field. The TGS team feels like one big family.  I love that! Lastly, I like how our school prepares all of our children for a successful academic future.

What inspires you?
The look of excitement when they walk through the door is inspiring. They have such an eagerness to learn, and I feel honored to be a part of that every day!

What is your passion or passions?
Being an educator has always been a passion of mine. The transformation from infant to PreK is incredible to watch and be a part of. Another passion is being a mother. Raising my three daughters has been the most rewarding feeling ever. Spending time with them is always at the top of my list. Being a mom has also helped me to be more compassionate with other children and families, as our children are one of the most precious gifts we have been given.

What does the term ‘Where Learning Begins’ mean to you?
Every child needs a strong academic foundation. Learning begins with the family and nurtured in a quality school. Learning is life long, and I am so glad it will begin here at TGS!
