At The Gardner School, we deeply appreciate the important role that teachers play in shaping the lives of our students. They not only impart knowledge but also guide each child through the journey of early learning with care and compassion. Our teachers are multi-talented and wear many different hats. They are skilled storytellers who encourage creative thinking, nurturing caretakers who provide comfort and security, and enthusiastic supporters who celebrate every small victory and discovery. Through their dedication, our teachers nurture a sense of wonder and curiosity in our students, helping them grow into confident, curious, and kind individuals.
Teachers are the heart and soul of our classrooms, and we provide ongoing support to ensure they continue feeling inspired, engaged, and supported in their important work. One of our favorite ways to show our teachers how much we value them is by celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week! Families participate in the annual celebrations too! Here’s a glimpse of how we celebrated teachers across our schools during this year’s Teacher Appreciation Week at The Gardner School.
There’s No Place Like TGS
This year’s theme was a play on The Wizard of Oz. We kicked off the week with delicious breakfasts and lunches from parents that provided our teachers with plenty of fuel for educating our young students. The food was NOT in short supply and included endless coffee, pastries, bagels, smoothies, and even taco and popcorn bars throughout the week at a few of our schools!

More Than Ruby Slippers: Gifts Teachers Adore
Our schools teamed up with parents to shower our teachers with gifts that ranged from practical and personalized to purely delightful! Inspired by the Tin Man, many teachers were given self-care gift packs designed to help them take care of their hearts. Others received gift cards to their favorite coffee shops, restaurants, and stores. Tote bags, tumblers, popular school supplies, and DIY flower bouquets to take home were also a hit!
“A heart is not judged by how much you love but by how much you are loved by others.” — Tin Man, The Wizard of Oz

Heartfelt Thanks
Our teachers greatly appreciate kind words from both their students and parents. Throughout the week, many families brought in thank-you cards and wrote personalized notes to teachers expressing their love and gratitude. These notes were proudly displayed at schools all week, bringing joy and encouragement to our hardworking teachers.
