Lincoln Park Zoo

Beautiful days are just begging for you and your family to get outside in the sunshine. Thanks to Lincoln Park’s wide array of outdoor activities, you and your child can enjoy a little vitamin D and all the smiles and laughs you can handle. If you’re ready to get out there and see what your neighborhood has to offer, we’re here to offer a little inspiration. We asked our TGS parents about their favorite kid-friendly outdoor activities in Lincoln Park, Chicago. Here were a few at the very top of their lists.

1. Lincoln Park Conservatory

The wonder of nature is waiting right in your neighborhood—if you know where to look, that is! One of the local favorites is the Lincoln Park Conservatory, featuring exotic plants, a gorgeous fountain, and towering monuments that will leave your whole family in awe. Admission is free, but remember that you will need to reserve your spot ahead of time. When you’re looking for a family-friendly activity on a sunny day, look no further. The Lincoln Park Conservatory is a must-see for the area.

2. Margaret Donahue Park

With the help of The Chicago Cubs, the City of Chicago has designed an accessible play area that includes a soft-surface playground, a fun spray feature, plenty of seating, and pristine landscaping. When your little one is ready to burn some energy, this is the perfect place to head to!

3. Lincoln Park Zoo

What better way to teach your child about the power of nature than to immerse them in it? The Lincoln Park Zoo will transport them all over the world, showing them how animals from near and far live and adapt to their environments. The zoo features children’s programs, manicured gardens, and, of course, plenty of different animal species. For a day of learning and fun, it doesn’t get much better than Lincoln Park Zoo.

4. Supera Park

For a day at a friendly neighborhood park, pack up your child and head to Supera Park, one of the area’s favorites. This half-acre park features an ADA-accessible soft-surface playground where you can feel confident taking your family for a safe and fun day in the sun.

5. North Avenue Beach

The little beach lover in your life will have a blast at North Avenue Beach. One of Chicago’s most popular spots, this beach includes an ocean liner-inspired beach house that boasts one of the best views in the city. Then, take a break from playing in the sand to visit one of the many local restaurants and other attractions that North Avenue Beach has to offer!
