Why Reflection Matters
Reflecting with your preschooler helps strengthen memory, encourages gratitude, and nurtures early communication skills. It’s a simple yet powerful way to help them process experiences and build a foundation for emotional awareness.
Simple Ways to Reflect Together
Reflection can be a fun bonding activity that helps your child process their experiences. Sharing memories from the past year, looking at photos, or talking about their favorite moments can make them feel understood and valued.
Fun Reflection Activities for Preschoolers
– Memory in a Jar: Capture special memories in a jar by writing down or drawing key moments from the year!
– Accomplishment Tree: Create a “tree” with leaves representing things that your child is proud of or new skills that they’ve learned over the year.
– Photo memory page: Take photos of your child’s favorite toys, books, stuffed animals, spaces in the house or outdoors, or other things that hold a special memory from the year. Your child can help select the items. Arrange them on a page or create a small poster.
Remember, reflecting with your child doesn’t need to be complicated or structured, it’s all about making them feel heard, appreciated, and proud of their growth!
