April 29th is a special day for Make-A-Wish Foundation, families and children across the nation, and The Gardner School. Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Make-A-Wish operates in all 50 states and nearly 50 countries around the world. April 29th marks the annual celebration of World Wish Day, a day dedicated to supporting the mission of the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
World Wish Day is also an opportunity to celebrate Make-A-Wish’s incalculable impact on the lives and families of children with serious illnesses. By granting children’s wishes, the foundation brings joy, celebration, and respite to individuals during a difficult season in their lives.
1. Hosting Make-A-Wish Send-Off Parties
The Gardner School has made it a priority to support the work of Make-A-Wish for many years. Some of our preschool locations have hosted send-off parties for Wish recipients. In our colorful learning spaces, we’ve hosted gatherings for these special children and their families who are about to embark on an adventure.
2. Participating in the Annual Make-A-Wish Walk for Wishes
We support Make-A-Wish by participating in annual walks in several different cities across the country. Our preschool locations near Washington D.C., Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana have all been sponsors for Walks for Wishes events in their cities. The money raised at these events helps fund the incredible work of the Make-A-Wish Foundation in its mission to provide an exceptional experience for children who have endured the unimaginable.
3. Supporting Make-A-Wish Through an Annual Gift
Some of the bravest people we know are children who have more challenges than others. Through Make-A-Wish, we’ve met individuals facing critical illnesses with incredible strength and wisdom. To support families during difficult times, we’ve built a relationship with Make-A-Wish in cities throughout the U.S.
To help fund Wishes that often involve flights, hotel reservations, and meals, The Gardner School makes a generous donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in the communities where we have preschool locations on behalf of our TGS families. We honor and celebrate families who spend time at multiple doctor visits, undergoing treatment, and enduring long hospital stays. By funding a Wish, we help children and their families take a moment away from the stress of illness to make special memories together.
Making Children’s Dreams Come True
The Gardner School is committed to supporting all children, no matter what they’re going through. Our Chief Operating Officer Tammy Robinson says, “We love helping to bring dreams to life for children and their families. It is something we strive to do each day at The Gardner School, and this is one of the many reasons we support the work of Make-A-Wish.”
We believe it’s valuable for our students to learn more than just academic skills. Discovering ways to be kind and encourage others are important too. For more information about how we can help your children learn, set up a time to explore the TGS location nearest you. Our interactive curriculum, academic focus, and highly-trained teachers bring the very best in education to every student, every single day.
