Stroll the Local Farmers’ Markets
Farmers’ markets are lively spots for children to learn about food and enjoy a bustling atmosphere! Every Saturday morning, you can browse the Franklin Farmers Market with your family. This year-round market is located behind The Factory at Franklin and hosts over 70 different farmers from across the area, as well as local artists and craftspeople. You can also head downtown to check out the Five Points Farmers Market. It operates on certain Thursday evenings throughout the year from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Storytime Awaits
Several libraries and bookstores in Franklin host free storytimes that often feature music, songs, dancing, and crafts! These events are a fantastic way to develop early literacy skills while having a lot of fun (for free). The children’s department of the Williamson County Main Library branch in Franklin hosts weekly storytimes for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. You can also find the branch location closest to you and check out the schedule of events.

Noble Springs Dairy (children two and under)
If your little one is an animal lover, they will love spending some time with you at Noble Springs Dairy. On select Saturdays throughout the year, you can head to the farm and spend time learning about the goats and other animals! The farm also hosts educational tours so families can learn all about the farmstead creamery and cheese-making process. Most experiences on the farm do require paid admission, but the goat farm experience is free for children two and under!
Bluegrass Along The Harpeth
Enjoy some music and dancing with your preschooler during this two-day festival on Franklin’s historic town square. Bluegrass Along The Harpeth brings together some of the best bluegrass bands and musicians who compete in a variety of competitions. The annual event is held on the fourth weekend of July.

Movies in Pinkerton Park
A free outdoor move is a great way for families to enjoy a night out together. Every Friday during summertime, Pinkerton Park shows family favorite movies like Moana and Shrek. Pack a picnic and a blanket to enjoy the free shows, and be sure to check out additional family-friendly events at parks across our beautiful city!

Natchez Trace Parkway
Buckle up and head out for a scenic drive on the Natchez Trace Parkway. Aside from the gorgeous views, there’s a lot to experience along the 444-mile road. You can stop for a hike or picnic, take in a waterfall, or identify all of the beautiful colors of the trees as foliage changes in the fall!
