1. Gallery Park

2. The Village Green

Village Green Park is located in the heart of downtown Northbrook. Families love its seasonal soccer field, picnic areas, playground, walking paths, and old-fashioned gazebo. Your little one will enjoy the playground’s slides, ramps, tunnels, bridges, swings, and sand. With plenty of greenery and shade, Village Green is a family favorite spot to enjoy each other’s company.

3. Historic Wagner Farm

For those looking for a farm adventure, check out the Historic Wagner Farm. The farm’s staff designs and incorporates fascinating programs and events to illustrate the important role that farming plays in today’s world. From June through October, you can also shop at the Glenview Farmers Market!

4. Wood Oaks Park

Another lovely park in the area, Wood Oaks Park, features Lake Shermerville, outdoor tennis, pickleball, and an extensive playground. Enjoy the scenic walking trail surrounding the park for a little exercise. Pro tip: in the winter, this park has one of the largest hills in the area that is great for sledding.

5. River Trail Nature Center

The River Trail Nature Center is the perfect spot for learning outdoors. The center offers free exhibits, walking trails, and on-site nature educators. Educators will share the stories of plants, animals, and natural landscapes formed by the Des Plaines River. Your child can immerse themselves in one of the center’s many programs. From learning to make maple syrup to joining a guided hike, your little one will always have something interesting to learn.
