The Gardner School partners with parents to ensure the emotional, physical, and educational needs of every child are able to be met at school and at home. We also want to equip parents with a variety of tools that can help enhance their child’s early learning experience. Subscription boxes are a wonderful resource for learning at home that are carefully curated to encourage play with age-appropriate toys, projects, and games. That’s why we’ve created this list of some of our favorite subscriptions.
In addition, be sure to check out our TGS Recommends program for a collection of all of our favorite toys, books, and games to support your child’s growth and education at home.
Little Fun Club | $20 and up
Little Fun Club is a book-based subscription box that delivers two or three age-appropriate hardcover books per month. You can expect to find new titles, board books, award-winning children’s literature, and educational books. This is the perfect subscription box to help promote early literacy, letter recognition, phonics, and a love of reading. Every parent knows that reading the same books over and over gets a little repetitive. Luckily, the Little Fun Club helps you integrate a little variety into your child’s book choices. When your child is a preschooler who loves routine, shaking up your reading list can be great for both parent and child!
KiwiCo | $24 and up
Kiwi offers a huge selection of gift boxes for all ages, from infants to teenagers. For TGS students, we recommend the Panda Crate (0-36 months) and the Koala Crate (ages 3-4). Each box contains play activities and projects with materials to teach your child about colors, shapes, animals, and more. The toddler activities are especially great for hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. Each shipment also contains materials for parents to understand each activity and early education concepts in a simple way.
Little Passports | $25 and up
These kits, from the makers of the learning app HOMER, introduce children to new ideas and concepts through their Early Learning subscriptions for explorers ages 3-5. Early Learning kits focus on wild animals, deep sea discoveries, dinos, and more. Plus, this subscription can grow with your child, since it provides engaging activities related to cooking, crafts, and science education for children up to nine years old.
Steve Spangler Science Club Box | $33
The Steve Spangler Science Club is a monthly subscription box from award-winning science teachers to help introduce your child to the natural world. There are 5-8 hands-on experiments in each box, all centered around concepts like the scientific method, basic physics, and easy chemistry activities. All experiments are clearly explained so that you can open your own laboratory right inside your home!
Literati Book Club | $60 and up
Another book subscription box that will help fill out your child’s library, Literati offers book clubs that feature newborn children all the way up to their teens! There’s no better way to help your child become a lifelong reader than by making your monthly book delivery a day of celebration! Literati will send your child five books each month to choose from. You can return any books that you don’t like and pay Amazon’s list price to keep the ones you love.
Lovevery | $80 and up
Each subscription box promotes what the team at Lovevery calls stage-based learning. At each stage of development, a baby or toddler needs different toys to help them develop different parts of their brain. Each box comes with an array of beautiful and durable Montessori-inspired toys. A play guide is also included with each kit. This guide provides a closer look at the milestones your child may explore at this age and explains how each item in the kit caters to your child’s specific developmental stage.
