The directors and teachers of The Gardner Schools at BucktownWest LoopGlenview-NorthbrookOak Brook and Naperville campuses teamed together to volunteer at the St. Jude Walk/Run to end Childhood Cancer on Saturday, September 24. Our preschool teachers woke up with the sun to make sure all participants were well hydrated as they handed out water!

The Chicago 5K, which raises funds for St. Jude research labs and assures families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food, one of many amazing organizations supporting the discovery of cancer treatments. Since treatment at St. Jude began in 1962, the overall childhood cancer survival rate has increased from 20 percent to 80 percent, and it’s their pledge not to stop until no child dies from cancer.

The Gardner School was happy to be part of the event, which raised $358,189.
