Space Jump-A-Thon

The Gardner School will host its Inaugural Space Jump-A-Thon event, Make a Wish Upon a Star, on Saturday, June 21, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held at the The Gardner School of Brentwood, located at 1591 Mallory Lane, Brentwood, TN 37027. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Make A Wish Foundation of Middle Tennessee. The school’s goal is to raise enough money to grant a wish for one deserving child.

The event is free and open to the public, and children of all ages are invited to participate. The day will feature fun children’s games, food, face painting and music, and kids can practice their jumping skills in our Space Moon Bounce leading up to the Jump-A-Thon at noon.

All jumpers will be asked to have one or more sponsors for their jump. Sponsors can pledge whatever dollar amount they would like as jumpers will be judged on how many times they can jump in a 1 minute timeframe. The more they jump, the more funds they raise for Make A Wish!

This event is part of the Kids for Wish Kids initiative, which gives children the ability to take part in raising money for other kids. Make A Wish is a 501c3 non-profit that grants the wishes of children battling life-threatening illnesses. The Middle Tennessee chapter covers 38 counties in our area.

“Kids for Wish Kids has really taken off in the Middle Tennessee area with schools like Ravenwood High School, but this will be our first preschool. We could not be more thrilled to have these young people on board,” said Beth Torres, Executive Director, Make A Wish Middle Tennessee. “Kids for Wish Kids is all about teaching young people to help those in need.”

“The Gardner School has been looking for a non-profit cause to team with in order to teach our children the importance of giving back,” said Scott Thompson, President, The Gardner School. “Kids for Wish Kids gives our little ones the opportunity to help other kids, and it just does not get any better than that!”
