Enrichment Showcase: Gymnastics

Early Childhood Development | October 15, 2015

The Gardner School is proud to offer onsite enrichment programs for our child care! These programs, held outside of core class time, provide exciting new opportunities for students, while helping busy parents out at the same time. There’s no running to dance class or karate after picking up your child at school – their after school activity is at TGS! Enrichment classes emphasize the arts, athletics, and language skills, and can range from music, drama, dance, sports, cooking classes, computers and karate.

Rachel McCormick, Director of The Gardner School of Brentwood outside of Nashville, elaborates: “Our Enrichment staff members are specially trained in these different disciplines, and you will be amazed by how much your child will learn and how much fun and confidence they will gain in doing so.”

Featured Class at a Glance:

After a little time at The Gardner School’s day care, your child will be doing backflips. No, really. Gymnastics is one of our many excellent enrichment programs offered at TGS. Students, ages two and up, can participate in gymnastics, which develops body awareness, movement ability, strength and coordination. Additionally, gymnastics encourages self-discipline and listening skills. It’s also a great confidence builder for young children. Some TGS schools also offer ‘Gymnastics for Tots’ (14 months to 2 years), an introduction to gymnastics based on tumbling.

McCormick continues: “Here at The Gardner School of Brentwood, we love watching and hearing the stories of our young students balancing on the balance beam, doing vault jumps, tumbling, and new stretches. The smiles and the confidence carried within each student is undeniable. The skills learned in gymnastics are skills that will undoubtedly leave the children with a strong foundation for their future!”
