TGS Dance Enrichment Class

With these warmer months upon us, it’s time to get out, enjoy the weather and meet new friends! It’s important to keep your little ones active and healthy, as well as establishing new relationships outside of their current friends and family members!

Throughout the year, The Gardner School offers a variety of enrichment classes for children age two and up. Signing your child up for a summer class will allow them to stay active while having fun and making new friends.

Here are three benefits of signing your child up for an enrichment class:

1. Helps Develop New Interest

Getting involved in an enrichment class will allow your child to explore new interest. This may allow them to discover a talent they didn’t know they had!

2. Boosts Self Esteem

Playing sports at a young age teaches your child new skills and the importance of being a part of a team. There are a number of studies that support the value of sports and physical activity contribute to the development of self-esteem. For example, study in Switzerland found youth who participated in sports had a greater well-being, were better socially adjusted, felt less anxious, and generally felt happier about their lives. Contributing to a team either by learning to be a leader or in another supportive role will contribute to their self-esteem and confidence.

3. Develop Teamwork Skills

Teamwork is a vital skill used in all areas of life. Children working together as a team learn to work cooperatively with others towards a shared goal. It will help them share ideas and respect other’s abilities and opinions. Learning to work as a team will strengthen your child’s social and emotional skills, develop communication skills and improve confidence.
