Not only is holiday shopping on your list, but taking a holiday or New Year’s family photo is also a likely priority. Whether you send out a digital photo or a physical copy through the mail, make sure you snap the perfect picture with a great backdrop! Taking a picture in front of a known landmark or a beautiful landscape can definitely add a special touch to your cards. Here are a handful of special places to take a family photo in Cincinnati.

Newport Southbank Bridge 

Known as the Purple People Bridge, the Newport Southbank Bridge is a popular location for Cincinnati holiday pictures. This former railroad bridge connects Kentucky and Ohio over the Ohio River and offers a picturesque backdrop of Newport, Kentucky.

Carew Tower Observation Deck

Cincinnati’s second tallest building, Carew Tower, offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding rivers and city, making it another great location for families to have their holiday portraits taken. Admission is free for ages 5 and under.

Tree Farm/Big Tree Plantation

Big Tree Plantation has been a family favorite for over 25 years and provides a 9-acre lake, three ponds, and over 50,000 harvestable trees that make for many backdrop options for any holiday picture. Krohn Conservatory

With more than 3,500 plant species from around the world, Krohn Conservatory is a magical place to have your family’s holiday portrait taken. From November 12 through January 8, A Whimsical Wonderland holiday show is currently featuring royal blue, fiery orange, and royal purple poinsettias. Tickets are $7 for adults, $4 for children ages 5-12, and free for children ages 4 and under. Get a $1 off coupon here!

Sharon Woods

Sharon Woods is a fantastic place to have your family pose for holiday photos. Their Heritage Village Museum is a recreated 1800s community that features historic buildings and provides an alluring backdrop for your family portraits. You can even bring along your fur babies to this pet-friendly park. After the photoshoot, let your kids play in the two-story play area (ages 2-12).
