S.T.E.A.M. activities are rolling right along!

|

We are about a week into Camp Gardner’s summer program Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead, and so far it’s been quite an adventure for our little campers across all of our schools. Our first week’s theme was “Animal Junction,” and our kids took learning to the next level with activities such as:

Animal Clinic VisitorsVisitors from a local animal clinic

Dr. Kurt from the Lyndon Animal Clinic dropped by The Gardner School of Louisville to teach our campers about pets and how to care for them.

Science Experiments with PreschoolersScience experiments like making elephant toothpaste

The Gardner School of Nashville’s three-year-old campers mixed together water, hydrogen peroxide, food coloring and soap! It’s that easy, but we love how the simplest experiments can turn out to be a big learning experience!

Preschool MathematicsCreating monkeys with mathematics

Monkey Math Patterns was a fun, educational activity at The Gardner School of Glenview-Northbrook. Using several various math concepts, we created our own crazy monkeys!

Furry Friend VisitorsFurry friend visits

Staff from the Country Yard Critters taught our campers about different kinds of farm animals. Many of our children live in the city, so it was a wonderful experience to have live animals right in our yard!

It’s not all “work”! Our schools also have had some great surprises for our kids like brining the Kona Ice Truck to drop by The Gardner School of Herndon and setting up a bounce house for The Gardner School of Midtown-Nashville. If this is just the beginning, we can’t wait to see see how the rest of the summer turns out for our campers!
