Toddlers

Your baby is growing up—what an exciting time! At The Gardner School, our childhood development program for toddlers is carefully designed to encourage each child’s growing need for independence and an emerging sense of self, while nurturing intellectual growth, exploration, and socialization in a safe, supportive environment.

“Our toddler has learned so much and comes home happy. We are continually eager to see what our kids will learn, the activities they will participate in, and the new experiences they will have at TGS.”

Megan Francis-Ogden, TGS Dublin Parent

Program Highlights

Creative Curriculum

The Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers, and Twos focuses on delivering nurturing, consistent and loving interactions with our toddlers. For young children, meaningful and long-lasting learning requires active thinking and experimenting to find out how things work. Our comprehensive curriculum focuses on observation and assessment to help your toddler’s childhood development reach the highest levels.

Language Development

Our toddlers begin to make the transition from American Sign Language to the beginning stages of language skills and speaking. Teachers encourage language development through story time, songs, blocks, and puzzles, as well as our home living and other learning centers, to help our toddlers begin to align letters, sounds, and words with objects.

Socialization

A young child’s self-confidence and socialization skills are developed at a very early age, as their curious nature prompts them to reach out to other children and adults. We aid in this time of childhood development for toddlers by encouraging social interaction, friendship and learning experiences through group play activities. Our teachers consistently interact with our young students in a nurturing and reassuring way to build a loving, trusting, and supportive environment.

Parent Communications

We understand the importance of staying connected to your child while at school. With real-time daily updates, photos and notifications through our parent communications emails and app, our teachers take time to communicate every piece of your child’s day. Through child assessments, phone calls and teacher/parent conferences, TGS enables and encourages our parents to be an active part of their child’s educational experience.

Monthly Themes

Our monthly themes allow our toddlers to learn through play, observation, and exploration. With a wide array of topics that our toddlers can relate to directly, we carefully introduce and foster language development, cooperative play, sensory awareness, colors, manipulatives, and self-expression to your little one.

Itsy, Bitsy Yoga

The ancient practice of yoga is proven to help people of all ages, even infants and toddlers. We utilize Itsy, Bitsy Yoga as part of our curriculum to help our toddlers sleep better, digest easier, be happier, stay healthier, and even learn how to relax their bodies.
