My name is Maria Vaughn and I am the Executive School Director of TGS Franklin. I have lived in Middle TN since I was six months old. After graduating from Brentwood High School, I headed to Greenville, South Carolina where I received my degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Furman University. After graduating, I returned to TN and spent the next 10 years teaching first and third grades at Goodlettsville Elementary in the Metro-Nashville Public School System. Additionally, I have several years experience teaching preschoolers, ages birth through five, in a variety of settings. I have always loved working with children! Every age is special and unique, and I find tremendous joy and satisfaction as I watch children mature and experience life.
I joined The Gardner School in September 2011 as a director-in-training and was promoted into the Executive Director position in January 2012. I am thrilled to be in this role working with preschoolers, parents and teachers. It is such a blessing to work in an environment where I see young children learning, growing and having fun everyday! We have a phenomenal faculty who are truly dedicated to the teaching of young children. I welcome you to come by and see what The Gardner School has to offer.
